Former Emmerdale legend Patsy Kensit is set to tie the knot for the fifth time with her secret boyfriend after only five weeks despite vowing never to marry again.

The actress, 54, announced her engagement to multimillionaire property tycoon Patric Cassidy after he got down on one knee on Tuesday (September 6).

A close friend of the former soap star recently told The Sun how the loved-up couple were introduced to each other through mutual friends.

And it’s fair to say sparks flew between the pair as their whirlwind relationship moved at lightning speed as they prepare to organise another romantic wedding.

The inside source told the publication: “This has been a whirlwind romance. Patsy and Patric are smitten, and it just feels very right.

“He popped the question at Scott’s fish restaurant in London on Tuesday. After she celebrated, they took over the bar at the Connaught Hotel and bought the room Cristal champagne.

“They’ve only officially been together a matter of weeks but Patsy is going with her heart.”

The former model first walked down the aisle when she married musician Dan Donovan in 1988 but soon called things quits in 1991, before she wed Simple Minds star Jim Kerr from 1992 to 1996 where they later welcomed a son James, now 29.

In 1997, the blonde bombshell married Oasis singer Liam Gallagher who also welcomed a son together, named Lennon, 21, but they went their separate ways in 2000.

Her fourth marriage was to DJ Jeremy Healy which only lasted 12 months before the called time on their marriage in 2010 where she vowed never to marry again following their heartbreaking split.

Earlier this year, the TV star confessed that the only marriages she has been through in her life that were significant to her were those to her children’s dads.

Speaking candidly on the Podcast from Midlife podcast, she confessed: “Well, I married all my boyfriends, so … that was something that I've learned I needn’t do.

“I can’t change the rules of the law … [but] I was with Jim and Lennon’s dad for years, so I kind of count them as my two marriages.

“I know that’s not allowed; I know there was a ceremony. But I feel that hose were the really significant relationships and very, very deep and wonderful in so many ways.”
