Peter Andre leaves Ben Shephard wowed with his age ahead of birthday milestone

Peter Andre left Ben Shephard wowed on Friday's episode of ITV chat show Good Morning Britain as he discussed his upcoming birthday milestone.

The singer, 49, is set to turn 50 on 27 February and GMB host Ben, 48, and Kate Garraway, 55, couldn't believe the news, pointing out how young Peter looks.

Ben said: "More importantly, we need to talk about this Peter Andre… I can't believe you're going to turn the big 50!"

To which the singer said: "You know, I hear the words and it freaks me out but actually, I feel good…

"But I hear the number and I'm just like: 'Oh my gosh!' It sounds old but it's not, it's not!"

He added: "I'm embracing it, I am, I feel alright."

With Ben pointing out: "I can't believe, I'm looking at you, I can't believe you're going to be 50! It makes no sense to me…"

The presenters then asked Peter for his secrets and tips to which the singer quipped: "I have a young wife!"

To which Ben joked: "That'll do!"

Also during the chat, Peter joked that he would "leave the country" if one of his two children with Katie Price decided to go on Love Island.

Peter talked about his two children, Princess, 15, and Junior, 17, and how he wanted them to present shows rather than be contestants.

Host Kate asked if it was true that Peter would ban his kids going on Love Island, she also asked why this was.

To which Peter responded: "I say things in jest a lot of the time. I've said my daughter was going to be a nun for how many years, you know, and everyone knew I was joking, but I was kind of secretly going 'hopefully'.

"But you know, when they turn 18, kids are gonna do what they want. What I said to them is, if you have a choice, I'd rather you present Love Island. Although Maya Jama is doing a great job right now.

"What I'm saying is that's what I always said. It's better to try to be a presenter. Look at yourself in that way rather than a contestant. Even though I have been a contestant in many shows.

"But no, if they really want to do something like that, I'll just leave the country."

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
