Rose Ayling-Ellis and her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice have made ballroom dancing history as the couple were crowned the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2021.
After 14 long weeks on the dance floor, the EastEnders star has gone from strength to strength with the guidance of the Italian stallion.
This year’s instalment of the beloved BBC One dance competition smashed a number of records as they welcomed the first all-male partnership and the first deaf-contestant onto the show with open arms.
And the dancing duo quickly won over the viewers at home after the blonde bombshell showcased her natural affinity for the challenging competition.
But the actress broke down the stigmas attached to hearing loss as she miraculously memorised a number of dance routines which she performed to perfection with the guidance of her pro dancer.
During the grand final, the contestants were tasked with performing two of their previously seen routines on the dance floor.
The first performance was the Quickstep during musical’s week which was picked by the judges after they spotted a few errors in the piece.
The second routine was the breathtaking couple's choice which the 27-year-old and her partner Giovanni selected after it stole the hearts of the nation during week nine.
And it’s fair to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the pair danced to a silent section in the routine which gave fans a glimpse into how Rose performs each week.
They ended the show with an epic show dance which combined all of the skills the pair have learnt over the course of the show into one mind-blowing number.
It comes after AJ Odudu and her first-time professional dance partner Kai Widdrington were forced to drop out of the show just days away from the final after the TV presenter tore a ligament in her foot.
Despite their best efforts, the star was advised by doctors not to perform on Saturday night because she was unable to walk without the aid of crutches.
It was the first time in the history of the show that there was only two contestants battling it out to take home the glitterball trophy.
And with just two couples left, Rose and Giovanni and their fellow finalists John Whaite and Johannes Rabede made sure to give it their all for one last show.
