Spoilers: EastEnders reveals missing Bailey’s fate

Missing Bailey Baker (Kara-Leah Fernandes) has been revealed on tonight’s EastEnders to be sleeping rough in an urban underpass.

The fate of the missing schoolchild has been hanging in the balance this last week following her disappearance from the Square, with friends seeing rallying around Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and Karen (Lorraine Stanley) as they searched for their missing girl.

The locals even banded together to get Karen her job at the launderette back by claiming that, at the time of her arrest for smashing up the premises, she’d actually been trying to chase away vandals.

In an effort to further convince a cash-strapped Karen that Walford’s residents had her best interests at heart, Denise (Diane Parish) was seen opening up to her neighbour about she financial hardship she too had once endured.

Karen was then left touched when she realised how coordinated the local effort to find Bailey had become, with T-shirts being printed and routes to track being mapped out.

What none of those involved in the hunt yet realise, though, is that Bailey is alone on the streets with just her dog Banjo to keep her company.

Next week’s episodes of the BBC1 soap will see an already vulnerable Bailey encounter danger when some youths steal her bag and Banjo gives chase.

Later on, Keegan (Zack Morris) will find an injured Banjo, but the Taylors are thrown into fresh panic when they realise that Bailey is nowhere nearby.

At that moment in time, the youngster is desperately searching for her pet but is then approached by a man named Reg, who claims to have once known her mum.

Pretty soon, Mitch has received a call from this mysterious guy, who now states that Bailey is in his care. But when Mitch and Karen arrive at the rendezvous point that they’ve arranged with Reg, there’s a new shock in store…
