The Chase's Bradley Walsh scoffed at Darragh Ennis on Monday's show, knocking his apparent attempt to one-up a contestant.
With singer and minister Emma the first to step up to the plate, four new contestants appeared to compete against the Chaser.
Chatting with presenter Bradley before the first round, Emma admitted she was hoping to win enough dosh to fund a trip to New Zealand for herself and her mum.
After a tense playoff, Emma made it through to the final, bringing an impressive £5,000 back to the table for the team.
Delighted, Bradley congratulated Emma on her win, hoping her long-haul travel plans could become a reality with the winnings.
He said: "Emma, pow! You’re through to the final! Congratulations, well done! Your mum will be thrilled with that."
Unfortunately, Darragh proved less gracious, as he took a swipe at Emma's performance on the show, suggesting he'd let her win.
Darragh, who was unveiled as new Chaser Ennis the Menace last year, claimed: "Yeah, I could have caught her, but she did very well and got back."
Host Bradley's jaw dropped, as he turned to the Chaser accused him of attempting to undermine the successful quizzer.
Brad fumed: "You couldn't have. How very dare you?"
The ITV legend, who celebrated his 60th birthday last year, then did an impression of Darragh, repeating: "I could have caught her!"
