Virgin River season three will be arriving on Netflix this week (July 9) and fans are excited to find out what happened to Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) after he was shot. There are many theories surrounding the shock attack, with some viewers believing his devious friend Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) pulled the trigger. Brady is set to get a new girlfriend in the series and fans are keen to find out more.
Who is Brady’s girlfriend?
Virgin River season three promises plenty of twists and turns as fans discover what happened on the night Jack was shot at his bar.
He had just formed a relationship with nurse Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), when he was targeted by an anonymous attacker.
Viewers were left wondering who would want Jack dead, and one name that keeps coming up is that of his friend Brady.
Brady found himself caught up in the middle of a dangerous drug gang and Jack was torn between saving his friend and keeping Mel safe.
The promiscuous Brady was also known to have pursued married women in the series and he is suspected of being the real father of Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) children.
Fans are expected to see Brady’s softer side in the upcoming season, as he forms a new relationship.
Speaking to Us Weekly, showrunner Sue Tenney said Brady “will get into a relationship this season with someone that will complicate things and will ripple through Jack’s life.”
Some fans believe he could form a relationship with Jack’s sister, Brie (Zibby Allen), who visits Virgin River in season three.
Hollingsworth said: “I think just the idea of him with Jack’s sister is scary for Brady. Jack finding out about that would cause a lot of drama, but it’s Virgin River and it’s a small town.”
With this in mind, Brady forming a relationship with Jack’s sister would certainly be a cause for concern.
Jack would not want someone like Brady getting involved with his sister, who is a district attorney in the series.
Hollingsworth promised fans would see more of his mischievous character, but also a softer side as he comes to terms with his emotions.
He teased another potential fight between Brady and Jack, as the series would not be the same without a scrap.
Early photos from the new season show Brie and Brady talking together, so there is a strong chance they form a romantic bond.
In the Virgin River books by Robyn Carr, Brie forms a relationship with Jack’s friend Mike Valenzuela.
However, the series may deviate from the original source material to create more drama for Jack.
The seemingly forbidden romance would be the perfect way to introduce another hurdle in Jack’s life.
Viewers have already seen Jack fully recovered from his injury, but he is not out of the woods yet.
There is plenty more drama to come as he deals with his ex-girlfriend Charmaine and her newborn twins.
Many fans are convinced Jack is not the real father, with theories suggesting a one-night stand with Brady led to the pregnancy.
Viewers are hoping Brady is able to settle down and stay out of trouble in the upcoming season, with one saying on Twitter: “Virgin River season 2 complete. I knew Brady was a good guy! He’s just troubled and misunderstood, ok and makes bad choices without thinking but still…” [Sic]
Brady is admired for his ‘bad boy’ ways but they will inevitably get him into more trouble if he is unable to curb his desires.
In the earlier episodes, he showed an interest in young troublemaker Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Mel’s sister Joey (Jenny Cooper).
Fans will have to wait and see whether he continues to pursue these relationships in the upcoming third season.
Virgin River season 3 arrives on Netflix on July 9.
