Who plays Gerry the Tai Chi instructor in Coronation Street?

The fan favourite portrayed by Paula Wilcox has taken up Tai Chi as a hobby, making friends with her instructor Gerry Northrop.

Early on in July, 2023, Gerry hinted to Elaine and her partner Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) that he would be appearing more frequently in Weatherfield due to his classes being in high demand.

More recently, Elaine bumped into a lonesome Gerry in the Bistro as she was ready to celebrate her daughter-in-law Sally's birthday.

Although Stephen was reluctant to welcome him, Gerry joined in and sat with the Elaine and her family in the restaurant.

Could Gerry be killed off in Coronation Street?

Due to his proximity with Elaine Jones, Gerry could be unknowingly climbing to the top of Stephen Reid's hit list.

Weatherfield residents are oblivious to the fact the businessman has turned into a full-blown serial killer after murdering Leo and his father Teddy Thompkins as well as fellow entrepreneur Rufus Donahue.

In recent trips to the cobbles, Stephen made the decision to get rid of Elaine by insisting she was planning to end her life – but her good mood, the result of her Tai Chi classes with Gerry, dampens his plans.

Viewers have sensed chemistry between Gerry and Elaine, hinting the pair could embark on a relationship once Stephen is out of the picture or, worse still, an affair.

But spoilers and recent shots of actors Todd Boyce and Joe Duttine have just confirmed that Tim Metcalfe may be Stephen's next victim.
