An NYPD police officer shot and injured an emotionally disturbed man who was armed with a machete in Queens Friday night, sources told The Post.
The shooting happened at around 6:45 p.m. inside 54-55 64th Street in Maspeth, sources said.
The shot man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and is expected to survive.
One NYPD officer was also taken to the hospital for ringing in the ears.
Police asked the public to avoid the area of 64th Street and 55th Avenue.
A large police presence is at the scene. It’s unclear if any injuries were reported.
