Diners horrified after slab of raw meat THROBS and twitches on the dinner table

DINERS were left horrified after a slab of raw meat was seen THROBBING and twitching on the dinner table.

The incident was filmed in the Malaysian state of Pahang and was shared on Twitter, where it's gone viral with almost a million hits.

Social media user Tero posted the clip with the message: "Why is the meat moving? My mum refused to cook it because she is so afraid."

The nerves in the meat were still live at the time, causing it to move and pulsate on the chopping board, it's reported.

The incident took place during the Islamic holiday Eid al-Adha.

The four-day festival is a celebration of Ibrahim (Abraham) agreeing to sacrifice his son Ishmael under Allah/God's command, which was then interrupted by Allah.

Muslims around the world often sacrifice an animal, usually sheep or cattle.

Two-thirds of the meat is given away to the poor and needy while the other third is eaten by the family.

Speaking about the incident, Tero told Real Press: “We were just a bit shocked and frightened, but after that we just pretended that it did not happen.

“We were a little freaked out because we didn’t know about the phenomenon. It stopped moving when my mum decided to put it in the fridge."

In 2015, a video of twitching meat was posted on Chinese social media network Weibo, where it amassed over 11million hits.

At the time, officials from the animal health department in the province of Shandong confirmed that the meat was safe to eat.
