Poundland-obsessed boy, 5, sent official uniform & Employee of the Month badge

A BOY of five who misses visiting Poundland has been sent an official uniform and Employee of the Month badge.

Maths-mad Harry Lord loves shopping at the budget store with mum Melanie, 31, and happily tots up the bill as she chooses items.

But he has not been able to visit for a year because of the pandemic.

So staff at their local branch sent the uniform, badge and a toy lorry to show they had not forgotten their star customer.

He uses them to play in his pretend Poundland shop.

Gift shop owner Melanie said: “They’ve gone above and beyond just to put a smile on his face.

"It just shows there is still some kindness left in the world.”

Staff at the shop in Lowestoft, Suffolk, have got to know Harry well over the past few years.

Last year, they sent him some bunting and price stickers for his play shop.

And once the restrictions are over, they have promised him a behind-the-scenes tour of the branch.

Melanie, who also has a daughter Jessica, three, said: “He just loves the atmosphere. He would always be so excited to go.”

A shop spokesman said: “Harry is already an honorary member of the store’s #Proudland team.”
