Who is Dominic Noonan?
Dominic Noonan is a former gangster and convicted paedophile from Moston, Manchester.
Raised in a family of 14 children in tough poverty, each child had a first name beginning with the letter D – a reference to Dublin and the Irish roots of their parents.
He is a member of one of Manchester's most infamous crime families, becoming notorious during the 80s and 90s.
Along with his brothers Desmond and Damien, Noonan started out working security at the Hacienda nightclub, where they would became known and respected as the "tough guys" of the city.

He is thought to have amassed over 40 convictions for a variety of offences.
Where is Dominic Noonan now?
Noonan is in prison after being jailed in 2016 for arson, blackmail and perverting the course of justice.
He is thought to be held at HM Prison Wakefield, West Yorkshire, which is where he appeared via video link while appealing his sentence in 2021.
What happened to his brother Desmond?
Desmond "Dessy" Noonan was an Irish Republican, anti-fascist and the key to helping the brothers monopolise the supply of bouncers at the club and others in the city.

Then having been consumed by an out-of-control alcohol and crack cocaine habit, Dessy was stabbed to death by a crack dealer in Chorlton in March 2005.
His funeral was held in south Manchester on April 22, 2005.
Derek McDuffus, a drug dealer from south Manchester, was charged on June 15, 2005, after appearing at Preston Crown Court, and was eventually convicted of Noonan's murder, for which he received a life sentence.
How long will Dominic Noonan spend in prison?
After being sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2016, Noonan was given a further 11 years to serve afterwards after beingconvicted of 13 historic sex offences against under-aged males in May 2018.
Noonan decided to appeal his sentence in 2021, but this was rejected in just 25 minutes by the Court of Appeal.
