Why is Walled Lake High School on lockdown?

Walled Lake High School was placed on lockdown on December 7, 2021, following reports of shots fired.

Cops reportedly rushed to the scene just after 8:30am local time.

"We received reports of shots fired at Walled Lake Central High School at 8:31," Oakland Co. Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. "We have multiple units and other local police departments on scene clearing the building right now."

Officials added that a primary search found no injuries or confirmed shots fired.

Bouchard later took to Twitter to call the events a "false alarm."

The case is still under investigation as authorities try to determine who made the 911 call.

The news comes just one week after a deadly shooting at Michigan's Oxford High School that killed four people.
