Cannes Film Festival: Stars dazzle at The Story of My Wife premiere

Cannes Film Festival 2021: Poppy Delevingne wows in a semi-sheer yellow dress as she joins Brooklyn Beckham’s stylish ex Hana Cross and Sharon Stone at the glitzy premiere of The Story of My Wife

They never put a foot wrong when it comes to making a good impression on the red carpet.

And Poppy Delevingne, 35, was sure to maintain her impeccable reputation for fashion as she wowed in a yellow dress with semi-sheer skirt and tight bodice while attending the premiere of The Story of My Wife on Wednesday.

Ensuring to also command attention at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, Brooklyn Beckham’s stylish ex Hana Cross, 23, donned a stunning cream gown which boasted a feathered detailing on the figure-hugging skirt. 

Sharon Stone, 63, also looked breathtaking as she graced the red carpet in an ice blue tulle gown adorned with colourful 3D flower detailing.

Poppy appeared to be in great spirits while posing up a storm in her ballgown, ensuring to work all her angles for the camera and spin her long skirt around.

The model’s ensemble featured a stylish criss-cross neckline across her chest and a tight bodice which accentuated her slim figure. 

She added a touch of sparkle to her look for the star-studded night by donning blue drop earrings with diamonds around the edges.

The brunette beauty wore her long locks slicked back from her face and down, letting them cascade down her back as she showcased her modelling skills for the cameras.

She also added an extra touch of glam with a selection of chic jewels, including a quirky necklace and large drop earrings as well as a diamond ring.

Sharon jetted to Cannes to host the annual glitzy AmfAR benefit gala, which supports AIDS research.

This year’s event will be held outdoors at Villa Eilenroc on Friday evening and will feature various entertainments, dinner and an auction.

One to watch: The Story Of My Wife is an adaptation of Milan Fust’s 1942 novel and stars Lea Seydoux (pictured) however she has tested positive for Covid-19 and has been forced to skip Cannes Film Festival while isolating 

Lady Victoria Hervey looked sensational as she graced the red carpet in a glittering purple gown with a thigh high slit. 

Larking around for the cameras, the 44-year-old socialite pulled on her glamorous gown’s hem to expose a glimpse of her tanned and toned pins, which were elongated with silver heels. 

Injecting yet more colour, Victoria toted a small gold clutch bag that complemented her silver shoes and the stoning on her corseted bodice.

Lovely ladies: Lady Victoria wasn’t the only celebrity daring to clash with the red carpet as Amy Jackson looked phenomenal in a burgundy gown featuring a Bardot neckline and voluminous skirt 

The Story Of My Wife is an adaptation of Milan Fust’s 1942 novel. The story is set in the 1920s and sees sea captain Jakob Storr makes a bet with a friend that he will marry the first woman who enters the cafe they are sat in – just as character Lizzy arrives, according to Variety.

The novel was first published in Hungary in 1942, but not translated into English until the late 1980s.

Lea Seydoux plays the lead role of Lizzy, however she has tested positive for Covid-19 and according to a report from Variety on Saturday, the Blue is the Warmest Colour star, 36, got the virus on set of her new film despite having both doses of the vaccine and being asymptomatic. 

Wow: Model Marta Lozano made quit the impression in a scarlet co-ord with an incredibly long and voluminous train 


Illusion: While the garment mau have looked like a gown from the back, it was in fact an off the shoulder bardot top with the train attached that she paired with peg leg trousers and heels 

Don’t get close! There was no chance of climbing the stairs at the same time as Marta, with her train getting in the way 

Watch where you step! Other festival goers had to be mindful not to step on Marta’s incredible train 

A spokesperson for Lea confirmed to the publication that she had tested positive for the virus, and stated she will remain in quarantine until her doctors have advised her it is safe for her to travel.

As Lea now has to remain in self-isolation at her home in Paris, she has not been able to attend the premiere for The French Dispatch on July 12.

The actress also has three other films that are screening at the festival: The Story Of My Wife, France, and Deception.

It is unclear which film set Lea was working on when she contracted the virus, as she is said to be in pre-production for two films, Crimes of the Future and Le Bal des Folles.

Cannes Film Festival’s general secretary Francois Desrousseaux informed Variety that those attending the festival are tested on a daily basis, and an average of three people per day have been positive cases.
