I'm an interior expert and these are the six things that make your home look cheap

AN INTERIORS expert shared the classic pitfalls that could be lurking in your home making it look cheap, and it's bad news if your curtains don't reach the floor.

Designer Interior By Krish shared all the home choices to avoid if you want your home to look more chic than cheap.


Taking to TikTok, the pro listed off all the potential problem areas in a video with the caption: "Things making your house look cheap."

LED strip lighting

First on his hit list was sticking LED strip lights on the ceiling so that they are visible.

Small artwork

Next up he advised against small artwork and said you're better off investing in larger pieces as smaller photos won't full fill up your walls.

Hanging TV cables

The next suggestion was that if you don't want your house to look cheap tuck away those pesky TV cables that often hang down and make the place look untidy.

Creased bed sheets

He then targeted creased sheets and suggested that making sure your duvet cover is crinkle free will make your home look more expensive.

Next up, the designer said that outdated lighting can really cheapen your space – so make sure to move with the times.

Short curtains

Finally he flagged the dangers of short curtains for making your home look cheap, apparently investing in full length drapes will give your home a classy feel.

The popular video has now been viewed more than three million times and has more than 250k likes.

But fellow TikTokers were not impressed with his suggestions.

One person said: "My house is clearly cheap but it's loved and my happy place so I won't be changing it."

Another said: "Ok, let's see the pictures of your perfect house now."

While a third said: "Cheap? Do you mean 'not decorated to please others'?"

But not everyone was against the interior decorator.
