You've been washing your bikini all wrong… cleaning expert reveals the right way – and it's not using the machine | The Sun

A CLEANING guru has revealed the right way to wash your bikini – and it's not using the washing machine.

With summer now in full force and Brits enjoying a scorching 33C heatwave, most of us are spending the sunny days on the beach rocking bikinis.

Just like any others garments, any piece of swimwear requires washing – but if you're amongst those who just chuck it in the washing machine, keep on reading, as that might do more harm than good.

According to Simply Swim, using washing machine to get your bikini clean is a major mistake that could ruin the delicate garment – even if it's done just once.

Instead, to prevent stretching, you should stick to hand-washing, and one cleaning whizz, Neat Caroline, took it to TikTok to demonstate how.

The pro organiser, from New York, said that you should first start by running the bathing suit under cold tap water – this will remove any leftover sunscreen, sweat and chlorine.
