‘Desus & Mero’ Returns to Studio With Guest Lil Nas X

“Desus & Mero” will make its post-lockdown studio comeback on Sunday, June 20, featuring special guest Lil Nas X. The late-night Showtime series, hosted by Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, has been filmed remotely from their own homes since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now the duo is finally returning (live and in-person) to a revamped studio in New York City.

The subversive talk show will continue to air weekly on Sunday and Thursday nights at 11 p.m. following its third season debut on the premium cabler. During each episode of “Desus & Mero,” which recently won a Writers Guild of America award, the titular hosts and longtime acquaintances give their hottest takes on the day’s trending topics, and chat with guests at the intersection of pop culture, sports, politics, music and more. Past guests include Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Yo-Yo Ma, Missy Elliott, Eddie Murphy, Demi Lovato and David Letterman, among other big names.

Desus Nice and The Kid Mero’s origin story begins with Twitter, where the quick-witted friends reconnected and realized they were kindred spirits with a lot to say. This led to gigs on Complex and MTV, the creation of the ongoing “Bodega Boys” podcast in 2015 and a daily late-night show on Viceland that racked up a loyal following across its over 300 episodes before moving to Showtime. Their self-help book, “God-Level Knowledge Darts: Life Lessons From the Bronx,” was released by Random House last September and made the New York Times Best Seller list.

Produced for Showtime by JAX Media, “Desus & Mero” is executive produced by Desus Nice, The Kid Mero, Lilly Burns, Tony Hernandez, Victor Lopez, Suzanne Fagel and Mike Pielocik.
