How Sainsbury's shoppers can DOUBLE their Nectar points

NECTAR card holders may want to hold off spending their points until next month because Sainsbury's has announced when it's holding this year's double up event.

Every year, the supermarket gives shoppers the chance to get ahead of their Christmas shopping by doubling their Nectar points when they spend in store.

Nectar points are a loyalty scheme where customers can collect points to spend with certain retailers.

Eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted details on the upcoming event on the Sainsbury's app and spilled the beans on HotUKDeals.

Between October 29 and November 4, you can exchange 1,000, 2,000 or 5,000 Nectar points for a double up voucher either in store or online.

During the event, 1,000 points is worth £10 instead of £5, and the maximum you can claim is 5,000 which is worth £50.

What can I spend my double up points on?

SHOPPERS must choose what category they want to spend their double-up voucher in before cashing in on the points. Here’s what you can spend them on:

  • Cosmetics
  • Electricals
  • Entertainment
  • Fragrance
  • Gifts
  • Homeware
  • Seasonal goods
  • Skincare
  • Taste the Difference wine, champagne, sparkling wine, sherry and port
  • Toys
  • Tu clothing .

You'll only be able to spend the vouchers in store between November 12 and 18.

Unlike last year, shoppers won't have to choose which range they want to redeem the coupons on as they can be spent on all of the ranges included in the offer like toys, Christmas decorations and homeware, as well as Tu clothing, skincare and fragrances.

You will also need to spend the voucher in one go though.

For example, if you have a £40 voucher and you want to buy a £15 pair of jeans then you'll either need to choose another £25 worth of clothes or else forfeit the remaining value of the coupon.

Shoppers can only redeem them in store which means you can't use them on online orders.

Even though you can collect Nectar points by shopping at Argos, Asos, Debenhams online, Disney Store online, Easyjet, eBay, Expedia and Three mobile, you'll only be able to double up at Sainsbury's.
