The two youngest Radford kids get christened on 22 Kids and Counting

Parents of Britain’s Biggest Family are joined by all 22 of their children as they christen youngest daughters Bonnie, 3, and one-year-old Heidi on their Channel 5 reality show

  • Heidi and Bonnie Radford get baptised in tonight’s 22 Kids and Counting episode
  • Mother-of-22 Sue Radford, from Morecambe, said it was the last christening
  • She said it was emotional to know she will not have any more children to christen

Britain’s biggest family gather for the christening of their two youngest members on tonight’s episode of their Channel 5 reality show, 22 Kids and Counting.

Parents Sue, 46, and Noel Noel Radford, who live with 18 of their 22-strong brood in a 10-bedroom house in Morecambe, Lancashire, were joined by their entire family to mark the christening of their daughters Bonnie, three and Heidi, one.

All of the 22 Radford children and their extended family gathered to mark the special event in October last year, with the event filmed for the reality show episode airing tonight.

It was particularly emotional for Sue and Noel because they say they will not be having any more children, making it the last christening of a child they will attend.

Parents Sue, 46, and Noel Noel Radford, who live with 18 of their 22-strong brood in a 10-bedroom house in Morecambe, Lancashire, were joined by their entire family to mark the christening of their daughters Bonnie, three and Heidi, one

Sue and Noel have said they wont have any more children, meaning Heidi and Bonnie are the last of their children to ever be christened

However some of their teenagers suggested their parents could still have ‘a couple more’ kids.

The whole family gathered to see Heidi and Bonnie being christened and headed to a luncheon costing £40 a head.

Sue’s mother, who travelled to Morecambe for the occasion, was adamant her daughter would not have more children.

‘I think it’ll be the last one now, I think she’s done well really hasn’t she,’ she said, smiling.

‘The younger ones are coming up, they are teens now,’ she added cheekily.

Parents-of-22 Noel and Sue presented Bonnie and Heidi for their christening. While Bonnie was not pleased with the holy water, Heidi remained calm throughout the ceremony

However, not everyone was convinced Noel and Sue will stick to 22 children,

The couple’s eldest daughter Sophie, 27, who has three children herself, and Luke, 21, who came out as bisexual earlier this year, discussed whether they believed Heidi will remain the last Radford kid for ever.

‘I personally think there’ll be a couple more children from mum and dad,’ Sophie said, adding she expected the couple to have ‘at least another two’.

‘And I’m never wrong,’ she added.

When Luke remarked that Sue was ‘cracking on,’ his big sister answered ‘don’t let them her you.’

As far as Sue and Noel were concerned, Heidi and Bonnie’s christening would definitely be the last they’ll have for their children, although they still have plenty of grandchildren’s christenings to look forward to.

‘It’s bit emotional that it will be our last christening,’ Sue said. ‘That’s it, we’re going to watch the kids grow up, there are more grandchildren to come along.’

Sophie has three children with her husband Joe Broadley: Daisy, nine, Ayprill, seven and Leo, six.

Millie Radford welcomed daughter Ophelia in 2020.

Sue and Noel also have four step-grandchildren.

Indeed, the couple’s third eldest child Chloe, 26, announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Jake Wallace.

Sue and Noel already share seven grandchildren – Daisy, nine, Ayprill, seven and Leo Broadley, six, Maisie, four, and Jacob Radford, two, Ophelia Radford, one, and Nicholas Radford, who was born in September – and four step-granchildren, meaning the new arrival will be their 12th grandchild.

Chloe is sister to Chris, 32, Sophie, 27, Jack, 24, Daniel, 22, Luke, 21, Millie, 20, Katie, 19, James, 18, Ellie, 16, Aimee, 15, Josh, 14, Max, 12, Tillie, 11, Oscar, 10, Casper, nine, Hallie, six, Phoebe, five, Archie, four, Bonnie, three, and Heidi, one.

Sadly the couple’s 17th child Alfie was stillborn on July 6, 2014.

Ophelia, one of the couple’s grandchildren, also lives with them at the house, alongside her mother Millie, while Chloe, Chris and Sophie have all moved out.

Sue and Noel bought their house in 2004 for £240,000.

With 22 kids living in the 10-bed former care home, they have done dozens of DIY projects to change the home over the years as different siblings grow up and share rooms.

The family, who first found fame in 15 Kids and Counting in 2014 most recently starred in Channel 5’s 22 Kids and Counting.

The couple estimated they had spent £1 million on their brood before the birth of their 22nd child Heidi, whom they said could be their last, although they’ve never ruled out having another.
