SummerSlam set to send WWE back to top in post Vince McMahon era but who will steal show from Logan Paul to Roman Reigns | The Sun

WWE are set to host SummerSlam this Saturday as they kick off a new era in professional wrestling.

The biggest pay-per-view event of the summer takes place at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville Tennessee.

The legendary show officially marks the post-Vince McMahon era after the wrestling supremo retired as Chairman, CEO and Head of Creative following allegations of sexual misconduct and hash money.

Excitement is beaming as the WWE Universe are hoping for a breath of fresh air under new Chairwoman and co-CEO Stephanie McMahon as well as new Head of Creative Triple H.

SummerSlam has brought some unforgettable moments throughout the years, such as the first ever TLC Match, Brock Lesnar becoming the youngest ever world champion and of course that show at Wembley in 1992.

Superstars, like Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, as well as celebrities like Logan Paul, will be looking to make history this weekend in a star-studded match card.

Logan Paul vs The Miz

YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul earned a WWE contract after an impressive performance at WrestleMania 38 when he teamed up with The Miz and defeated The Mysterios.

However, Miz turned on Paul after the bell as he planted him with a Scull Crushing Finale.

The social media sensation is now out for revenge at SummerSlam and smart money always bets on the celebrity.

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch shocked the WWE Universe last year at SummerSlam when she returned from maternity leave and defeated Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship in just 26 seconds.

The stage is set for Belair to exact revenge on Lynch, whom she beat at WrestleMania 38.

This match can indeed go either way but WWE are building The EST as a future superstar and a long reign could be on the cards.

Winner: RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair

Pat McAfee vs Happy Corbin

Pat McAfee returns to the ring after his shock win over Theory at WrestleMania 38.

Happy Corbin is in dire need of a major victory after his loss to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 38.

It makes more sense if Corbin wins this, but then again it also made more sense if Theory won at WrestleMania…

Winner: Happy Corbin

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs The Street Profits (with Special Guest Referee Jeff Jarrett)

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos have been on fire ever since unifying the belts against Rated RK-Bro.

However, this match against Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits can go either way due to the wildcard that is Special Guest Referee Jeff Jarrett.

Nevertheless, The Bloodline have so much momentum that Jimmy and Jey Uso could extend their reign.

Winner: Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos

United States Champion Bobby Lashley vs Theory

Theory poses as perhaps the biggest question mark in the WWE roster as he was booked as Vince McMahon's protege until recently.

But now that McMahon is retired it is uncertain how well Mr Money in the Bank will be booked as no one really knows how the new hierarchy feels about him.

The ex-NXT star doesn't really need the belt as he already has the briefcase, therefore Bobby Lashley could retain.

But that may not be the end of Theory's night…

Winner: US Champion Bobby Lashley

SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan vs Ronda Rousey

A vast majority of the WWE Universe loved it when Liv Morgan won Money in the Bank and adored it when she cashed in on the same night on Ronday Rousey to become SmackDown Women's Champion.

However, this feels like it will be short-lived, the same way it was for British star Nikki ASH last year.

If Rousey loses then that will mark one of the greatest upsets in WWE history.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar (Last Man Standing Match)

Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are set to face off in a highly physical encounter that can only end when one of them can no longer stand.

Shock reports suggested Lesnar walked out last week on SmackDown upon hearing about Vince McMahon's retirement and his match with Reigns was in peril.

However, their clash is still on and promises a whole new level of violence, and maybe a cash-in as both stars will be absolutely knackered after the bell.

Winner: Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns
