Angie Best shocks Loose Women viewers as she claims Coleen Nolan 'could have prevented marriage problems' if she had 'lost weight earlier'

ANGIE Best has shocked the Loose Women panellists and viewers when she claimed Coleen Nolan could have avoided her marriage problems if she'd addressed her lifestyle and weight sooner.

Appearing on the ITV show today, the star opened up on her fights with the TV star during her recent stint on Celebrity Big Brother, and attempted to defend her constant pushing for Coleen to lead a healthier lifestyle.

"Coleen is a very strong, independent woman," Angie said.

"At that stage, you start to lose your mojo, and when you lose your mojo you lose your confidence. I see this, I'm 15 years older than her."

Angie admitted while she didn't know about Coleen's marriage problems when she went in the house, it wouldn't have stopped her giving her advice on her lifestyle.

"It's her marriage problems that have caused her to lose her mojo. I had to go in and let her understand she's got to help herself."

As Ruth Langsford admitted it was hard for the panellists to watch, she asked how Coleen really is in the house, and Angie added: "She is down, she's lost. That does happen to many women at that age. But there's such an easy fix."

Lisa Riley then hit back: "But she's not in the right mindset, the last thing she wants to think about is training and weight loss, take one step at a time. She's already going through all that, the last thing she wants to hear is 'lose weight'."

But Angie immediately responded: "But, maybe if she'd taken that on sooner, she might not have marital problems."

The panellists immediately disagreed, to which Angie asked: "But she said he doesn't find her attractive anymore?"

To which the gang corrected her saying, "She THINKS he doesn't find her attractive anymore."

It sparked angry comments from viewers, as one tweeted: "How can you tell someone with depression to pull your socks up like Angie Best did with coleen nolen she makes me so mad."

While one added: "What a nasty thing to say Angie Best, that Coleen Nolan's marriage wouldn't be on the rocks if she had sorted her weight problem out."

However, some defended Angie, and one viewer tweeted: "Dont like @Realisariley at all…why is she havin a go at Angie Best. Some people need tough love and think Coleen ws ok with it."

Coleen recently broke down on the show after revealing she was suffering marital issues, over fears her husband Ray no longer found her attractive.

The star hinted she was facing a shock split if she and husband Ray Fensome cannot find a way to save their relationship.

"We're going to do a lot of talking over the next couple of weeks, but if we can't fix it then I want us to have counselling," she told the Mirror.

Coleen – of The Nolan Sisters fame – also warned that the couple could face a trial separation if counselling doesn't work.

The former popstar also revealed that they would spend nights together, often on the same sofa, just not talking to each other – sometimes for days at a time.

The I'm in the Mood for Dancing singer described the moment Ray told her he no longer found her attractive saying she was 'totally devastated'.

"It was tough to hear, but I'd asked him for the truth and sometimes the truth bloody hurts!" she added.

Coleen, 51, insisted she wouldn't be dieting to make Ray happy and said she found him the 'least fanciable man on the planet' when he had been drinking.

The pair, who have been married since 2007 and share a daughter Ciara, 15, have been speaking about trying to save their marriage, no matter how hard it is.

Author and agony aunt Coleen added: "I asked if he was still in love with me and instantly he said yes and then I asked if he still wanted to be married or call it quits.

"He said he couldn't think of anything worse than ending it – it was a huge relief. Up until that point I wasn't sure Ray still loved me – he's not the kind of man that says it – so it was a massive breakthrough."Coleen insisted the pair would fight for the marriage and not give it up without a fight in honour of their child and their history.

She added: "When you still love each other, which we do, you have to fight to stay together and the majority of our marriage has been fantastic."
