Several BBC viewers were asking the same question about King Charles’s Speech at the State Opening of Parliament with many questioning why presenter Huw Edwards wasn’t hosting the programme.
One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, asked: “Where’s Huw Edwards?”
Mike added: “Where’s Huw Edwards? #KingsSpeech coverage not the same. #bbcnews.”
Melanie echoed: “Will miss Huw Edwards commentary.”
Pat wrote: “Was wondering why Nicky Campbell was presenting the #StateOpening but of course Huw Edwards is still missing.”

Michael said: “Today’s will be the first #KingsSpeech on BBC TV for many years not anchored by Huw Edwards.
“I’d have expected the BBC to use one of their huge number of political and Parliamentary staff but they’ve gone for blandness in human form Nicky Campbell. Playing safe I guess.”
Paul lamented: “@BBC Missing Huw Edwards commentating on #StateOpening.”
And Mark penned: “Really miss #HuwEdwards on occasions like this #StateOpening.”

Huw hasn’t been seen on screens since he was confirmed as the presenter at the centre of the BBC sex scandal.
In July, his wife Vicky Flind named him as the presenter facing allegations over payments for sexually explicit images, while making a statement on his behalf.
In her statement, she said her husband was “suffering from serious mental health issues” and is now “receiving in-patient hospital care where he will stay for the foreseeable future”, as she asked for privacy for her family.
Huw is not facing any police action over claims he paid £35,000 to a teenager for explicit images and the person in question, now 20, has insisted nothing illegal happened.
