Dan Walker and BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood have been told to 'get a room' after exchanging gushing messages to each other online.

On Wednesday morning, the weather presenter took to Twitter to share some snaps of where viewers could expect to see her during the show.

Showing a series of gorgeous flowers, Carol captioned the images; " Good morning from @TowerOfLondon We are here this morning to show you the fabulous Superbloom in honour of her Majesty the Queen‘s Platinum Jubilee @BBCBreakfast"

Admiring the natural beauty, Dan jumped on the post to comment on the flowers.

He simply wrote: “Gorgeous.”

His former colleague playfully wrote back: "You are not too shabby yourself honey!, followed by two winking emojis and one emoji blowing a kiss.

Although the exchange was brief and light-hearted, some of Carol’s 263,300 followers were quick to make a remark on their exchange.

One of her followers wrote: "Off to the Tower for MD Walker for making suggestive remarks.”

Another simply said: "Get a room!”

Although many were too distracted by the stunning images the 60-year-old shared to comment on her exchange with Dan.

Someone replied to the snaps saying: "Visited a week ago, have to say we loved it, many flowers hadn't come out due to the variation of the weather recently, did you go on the slide Carol?”

With another adding: "Absolutely stunning!"

Dan may no longer be part of the BBC family after leaving to join Channel 5, but that hasn't stopped him from gushing over his former co-worker.

The Strictly star has insisted that Carol was an integral part of the BBC Breakfast team when being interviewed for a podcast Monday Mile with Aimee Fuller.

Aimee revealed that one time when Dan's nan met Carol at the BBC studios she became starstruck.

To which Dan replied: "There’s something magical about Carol Kirkwood."

Dan moved broadcaster this month as he started hosting Channel 5's evening news show, 5 News.

However, the star announced a huge career move earlier this month as he revealed he's written a book which is titled Standing on the Shoulders.

The broadcaster told fans that the final chapter is all about forgiveness and is called 'The Truth About Monsters'

He told his fans it was out in October and he couldn't wait for people to read it.
