Blankety Blank returning to BBC One with Bradley Walsh and star-studded celebrity panel

BRAND-NEW episodes of the iconic Blankety Blank will be back on Saturday nights on BBC One.

Hosted by Bradley Walsh, a panel of six celebrities will try to fill in the missing blanks in statements from a series of rounds and help win some brilliant prizes for contestants.

Last year’s Christmas special of the legendary game show had a celebrity panel with Jimmy Carr, Danny Jones, Emilia Fox, Anita Rani, Sue Perkins and Amir Khan.

With over six million viewers tuning in, it was the most-watched entertainment programme on Christmas Day.

The family-friendly game show will see the return of the memorable theme tune, along with the Blankety Blank cheque book and pen.

Guaranteed to bring laughter and fun, Bradley Walsh said: “I struggle to remember the last time I laughed as much as when I was filming Blankety Blank – so when they asked if I’d be up for doing a series, I jumped at the chance, I’m just so pleased I get to be a part of it.”

He added: “I stand on the shoulders of giants like Les Dawson and Sir Terry Wogan but I’m hoping to put my own stamp on the fantastically nostalgic show.”

Kate Phillips, Director of Entertainment at the BBC, said: “Blankety Blank has it all – ridiculous questions, unpredictable celebrities, bizarre prizes and, in Bradley a very funny and much-loved host.

"I can’t wait for everyone to watch and start filling in those blanks!”

Bradley Walsh was praised for his superb hosting during the Christmas special.

The Radio Times review said: "The star of the show is, without a doubt, Bradders himself.”

“Walsh is very much a man who can do no wrong and his latest presenting gig goes some way to further solidifying his role as the UK's safest pair of hosting hands.

“He picks up the presenting mantle with so much ease it's surprising he hasn't hosted Blankety Blank before."

However, the BBC was forced to apologise for Bradley’s potty mouth.

The Chase presenter, 60, repeatedly blurted “f*****g hell” after fluffing his lines in front of a virtual audience.

He swore again when Jimmy Carr poked fun at his gaffes in the game — once hosted by Terry Wogan and Les Dawson.

Brad said: “We can’t get anyone back. The other presenters are all f*****g dead.”

Who will be the first celebrity guests on the show – and will Bradley be able to control his potty mouth this time around?
