Wedding drama for EastEnders' young children Lily and Ricky as they expect baby

The events of Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky Cotton’s (Brian Conley) dramatic wedding reception were the talk of the town in recent EastEnders scenes, and the topic left Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) with a lot to think about.

As Ricky and Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) hung out with their friends in the Minute Mart, the topic of conversation soon turned to Kathy slapping Jo Cotton (Vicki Michelle) the previous day.

While Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) tried to get her head round ‘why anyone would ever want to ruin their own wedding like that’, Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) asked what their wedding would be like.

She, of course, insisted that it was going to be perfect.

However, all ideas of marriage were swiftly forgotten when Amy later found Denzel checking out other girls online.

As Lily sarcastically branded them ‘couple goals’, it was clear the topic of weddings was still playing on Ricky’s mind.

Curious, he asked Lily if she thought they would ever get married, and her response was pretty pessimistic to say the least.

She pointed out that, despite being together for ages, Denzel and Amy still do nothing but fight, while her parents ended up splitting up despite being the best of friends.

She confidently declared that marriage would be a waste of time, and, with those examples, we can totally understand her view.

As Ricky took a silent sip of his drink, he seemed somewhat disappointed by her response.

Does Ricky want them to be a proper couple, instead of just co-parents?
