Coronation Street’s Adam Barlow (played by Sam Robertson) has endured a challenging time in recent weeks as his ex Lydia Chambers (Rebecca Ryan) has been tormenting him. Still furious over how their fling came to an end many years ago, Lydia has been trying her best to ruin Adam’s life. She’s already successfully split-up Adam and Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) after faking an affair and has also tried to destroy his career. According to official ITV soap spoilers, Adam and Lydia will soon come to blows. Could Adam suffer severe injuries as the former couple get into a physical fight?

In upcoming scenes, when Sarah invites Adam to Harry Platt’s (Freddie and Isaac Rhodes) birthday party he thinks she’s thawing.

However, Adam’s good mood is short-lived when Sarah reveals she’s already filed for divorce.

While Sarah is distracted, Adam sets a plan in motion as he texts Lydia from her phone.

Later on, he meets Lydia in a coffee shop and presses record on his phone.

However, an eagle eyed Lydia soon sees through him and snatches his phone, deleting the recording.

Adam insists he’s had enough of Lydia’s antics and tries his best to wrestle his phone back.

After a struggle, Lydia lets go of the phone and it smashes onto the floor.

Raging about the ambush, Lydia fumes at Adam for his treatment of her all those years ago.

As he listens to Lydia’s argument, Adam suddenly feels a pang of guilt.

However, when Adam suggests it’s time she told Sarah the truth, Lydia’s left seething, realising it’s still the same old Adam and all he cares about is himself.

Meanwhile, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) scours the shopping centre for Adam, having heard from Sarah he’s gone to meet Lydia.

As he desperately searches for Adam, Daniel soon hears a noise from the balcony.

Will Daniel end up overhearing the truth from Lydia?

In a fit of anger, Lydia slaps Adam across the face and gives him an almighty shove.

Knocked off balance, Adam topples backwards over the railings and Lydia watches in horror realising what she’s done.

Later at the hospital, the doctor informs Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Daniel about the severity of Adam’s injuries.

The doctor explains Adam’s suffered a bleed behind the eye and urgently needs an operation to save his sight.

Ken and Daniel soon begin to quiz Adam about his fall, suggesting Lydia’s to blame.

However, Adam insists he doesn’t remember a thing. Could he be suffering from amnesia?

Meanwhile, Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) breaks the news of Adam’s accident to Sarah.

Sarah swiftly asserts Adam’s no longer her problem, but Carla Connor (Alison King) urges her to be there for him when he wakes up.

Will Adam recover from his injuries or could they have a permanent impact on his life?

As he appears to be struggling to remember what happened before his fall, this could be a sign that he has suffered a brain injury.

Will the horrifying fall change his life forever? Viewers will have to tune in to find out his fate.

Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 8pm on ITV.
