Coronation Street’s Summer missing as Billy learns truth about Mike and Esther

Coronation Street youngster Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) goes missing next week.

Spoilers for the ITV soap have revealed that a concerned Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) report Summer to the police as a missing person.

However, the officer warns that if she’s found, Summer’s location can’t be disclosed without her permission.

In recent scenes, Mike (Tom Lorcan) and Esther Hargrave (Vannesia Hehir) insisted on dropping Summer at the hospital for her scan but agreed to wait outside.

As Summer and Aaron Sandford (James Craven) played for time in the hospital, Mike suddenly appeared at their side and announced he should attend the scan with Summer.

Summer and Aaron then braced themselves to tell Mike the truth.

Desperate to raise the £10,000 to pay back Mike in upcoming scenes, Summer calls Billy, Paul and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) together and reveals that she and Aaron plan to go travelling for a year and need money.

Sceptical, Billy, Todd and Paul quiz a shady Summer about her plans.

Mike and Esther later told Summer and Aaron that they'd be willing to forget the £10,000 and give them even more money if Summer will agree to be a surrogate for their baby, despite her recent miscarriage.

An angry Billy is determined to stop Summer committing to the surrogacy plan at any cost.

Having summoned Mike and Esther, Billy tries to lay down the law but Mike points out that the decision is Summer’s, not his.

Will Summer return to the street or accept Mike and Esther's new deal?

Elsewhere on the cobbles, When Glenda Shutttleworth (Jodie Prenger) reveals she’s no longer free to go carol singing, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) asks Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) to join her.

Mary’s delighted when he agrees as Brian gazes at her fondly.

Also, Whilst Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) frets over Christmas Day, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsal) shares a secret smile with Hope Stape (Isabella Finnegan) and Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi).

Tyrone goes over his surprise wedding plans with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Beth Tinker (Lisa George) but when he’s forced to cancel their cinema plans, Fiz is further disappointed.

As an excited Tyrone predicts it’s going to be the best Christmas ever while Fiz laments to Maria that she suspects it'll be the worst.
