Dancing On Ice 2022: Rachel Stevens pulls out of debut following wrist injury

Dancing On Ice star Rachel Stevens will have to wait a bit longer to get her skates on as she’s been forced to pull out of Sunday night’s show due to an injury.

A statement released on the show’s official Twitter read: ‘Due to an injury sustained in training and on the expert advice from the Dancing on Ice medical professionals, Rachel Stevens will not skate in this Sunday’s show.

We look forward to her returning to the show next weekend @MsRachelStevens #DancingOnIce.’

Rachel reportedly fractured her wrist during training but is expected to return next weekend as normal.

The S Club 7 singer was due to skate for the first time this weekend as the remaining six celebs get on the ice.

Others who will make their dancing debut include Love Island’s Liberty Poole, rugby star Ben Foden and Connor Ball of The Vamps.

Paralympian Stef Reid and dancer Regan Gascoigne complete the line-up for Sunday night’s show.

She’s not the only star who won’t appear in the upcoming episode after Bez tested positive for Covid after his performance on Sunday night.

The 57-year-old Happy Mondays star, who is partnered with reigning skating champion Angela Egan, is currently in isolation – which has been slashed to five days.

Bez wasn’t due to perform this weekend after safely making it through to another live show, and should return for week three, on Sunday, January 30.

‘I’ve had a positive test,’ Bez confirmed.

‘I’m gutted because I’m going to be missing training but I’m looking forward to skating on the show again for week three and I’ll be tuning at home and cheering on my mates who are skating this weekend.’

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
