EastEnders heartbreak for Howie Danes as Kim Fox faces prison stint

Eastenders’ Denise Fox on affair storyline

An irresponsible mistake from Kim (played by Tameka Empson) drove Howie (Delroy Atkinson) to break up with her in previous EastEnders episodes. He was left fuming on the BBC soap after she crashed her car while looking at texts, leaving Howie’s son Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) in hospital. What Howie doesn’t realise is that Kim had been distracted by the texts because they were on her sister Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) phone, giving away her affair with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara). If an effort to prove herself to Howie, Kim told the police the crash was her fault – could she end up in prison?

When Howie first found out Kim had changed her story to the police, he didn’t care about the possible consequences.

“Look, I put my hands up – I turned myself in,” Kim explained to Howie as he tried to avoid her on a recent episode.

She continued: “They said I could face prison, community service, a driving ban… Whatever, I’ll take it.”

She later suggested: “I thought I could go and sit with Denzel-“

“I told you, we’re over,” Howie cut in harshly. “You do not go anywhere near that hospital.”

As Kim tried to get Howie to listen, he snapped: “You were reading texts.

“What kind of text is so important you nearly kill my son?”

When the beautician didn’t know how to respond, Howie simply walked away.

In subsequent scenes, he made several jibes at Kim about how she finds social media more important than anything else.

Kim seems desperate to explain that she was stunned by the messages on Denise’s phone and took her eyes off the road because she was shocked, but doesn’t want to expose her sister’s affair.

Kim has built a strong online following since attempting to become an influencer, and on the day of the crash had received an award for being a local social media success.

He jumped to the conclusion that she was focusing on her online content or comments from fans when the crash happened.

In scenes set to air soon, Howie will finally find out the reason for the crash.

It comes as the postman delivers a letter regarding Kim’s impending court case.

The popular character worries about her potential sentencing and drags Denise to The Vic.

Will Howie have a change of heart about Kim after realising she wasn’t simply updating her social media?

If so, could it be too late if Kim ends up receiving a sentence behind bars?

The usually-comic character could soon be leaving the soap if Kim’s court case doesn’t go as hoped.

EastEnders continues on Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
