Emmerdale fans distracted by glaring blunder as Laurel Thomas fails to escape from kidnapper Colin | The Sun

EMMERDALE fans have spotted a huge blunder as Laurel Thomas tried to escape from her kidnapper, Marshall's homophobic father Colin.

Wednesday's visit to the Dales saw Colin hold Laurel hostage to try to convince her to send their son to attend a conversion therapy camp in America.

Laurel was able to escape the room, after she knocked Colin out with his Bible and rushing out the door.

Laurel panicked when all the doors were locked and tried to hide from Colin.

But Colin found her and tied her up to the bed, leaving Laurel terrified.

However, fans have taken to social media to point out a series of blunders where Laurel could have escaped.

There were moments when the bedroom door was wide open while Colin stood away from her.

Some viewers said that when she was able to escape the bedroom, she could have smashed the windows on the back door to get out.

Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, one viewer said: "Bit of advice Laurel – while you're gabbing to Colin who has his back you – quietly back towards the door then open it and run like hell."

Another wrote: "So there's a Bible and a trophy in Marshall's bedroom and Laurel doesn't think to smash the windows with them!"

A third penned: "Although why did Laurel not lock the door with him in or smash the glass back door to get out? He's got his back to her ffs, there's chairs, lamps, pictures for gods sake."

Upcoming scenes will see Jai, Nicola and Suni grow very concerned about Laurel's absence.

And suspicions rise when Arthur reveals Laurel was meant to pick up Marshall's passport from Colin's.

Meanwhile, Colin forces Laurel to unlock her phone and Colin texts Jai in a way which implies Laurel has relapsed.

Colin's reactions become increasingly dangerous.

The arrival of a police officer raises hope for Laurel's rescue, but Colin's manipulation prolongs her ordeal.

Before long Jai and Suni take matters into their own hands in their search for Laurel – but will they find her?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
