Eve’s death set in motion as Stacey learns about evil Nish in EastEnders?

In tonight’s EastEnders, Kheerat (Jaz Singh Deol) opened up to Stacey (Lacey Turner) about the real reason his father was in prison for 20 years.

Nish (Navin Chowdhry) was busy telling everyone that he killed someone to protect his family and the shop, but as Kheerat revealed, ‘He killed a man he thought was sleeping with my mum.’

This has immediately made us worry for the safety of Eve (Heather Peace), who of course has been sleeping with Suki (Balvinder Sopal), although after Kheerat discovered this Suki rejected Eve and told her to go.

How will Nish react if and when he finds out that Suki and Eve have been together and there are strong feelings between the two women, however much Suki may try to deny it to herself and others?

‘Eve’s playing with fire,’ Navin Chowdhry told us. ‘And if Nish finds out what’s going on between her and Suki, it’s not going to be a pretty day in Walford. He wouldn’t hesitate for a second to do the same thing again.’

He also signalled that it won’t be long before Eve is drawn back into the Panesar family drama. ‘Eve is a strong woman, and we’ve got some scenes coming up that develop something very exciting,’ he said.

Meanwhile it was a difficult day for Nish in tonight’s episode as he struggled to get on top of the various family businesses. Life has moved on a lot while he’s been in prison and things like contactless payments were completely new to him when he tried to take over at the Minute Mart.

He clashed with Kheerat several times as he tried to change things mainly just to assert himself as top dog. Meanwhile his family were hardly welcoming him back to Walford, with Vinny (Shiv Jalota) and Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) being friendly but a bit hesitant, Kheerat being actively hostile and Suki nowhere to be seen, because she’s away in Mumbai completely oblivious to Nish’s presence in Albert Square.

At the very end of the episode, Nish was alone after another argument with his eldest son and collapsed in pain.

Not a great day for Nish – but there’s no doubt that he’s a scary man who’s used to getting his own way, and things are going to get even more tense for the Panesar family in the days ahead.
