Michelle Heaton looks happy and healthy on family day out after rehab saved her life from drugs and booze battle

MICHELLE Heaton looked happy and healthy as she treated her kids to a family day out.

The former Liberty X star looked thrilled to spend quality time with er daughter Faith, nine, and son AJ, seven, after her "life saving" rehab stint at The Priory.

The 41-year-old singer revealed she was days from death after a three-year addiction battle.

But Michelle looks like her hard work fighting her demons has paid off as she strolled around the Chessington World of Adventures hand-in-hand with her kids.

The mum-of-two looked relaxed in a pair of olive trousers and a bright orange T-shirt.

She wore a pair of gold hoops and let her hair hang in relaxed waves.

Last month, Michelle bravely revealed she had been "days from death" after going on a three-year cocaine and booze binge.

Just 36 hours after leaving rehab, the TV personality told The Sun of how she was only saved by an intervention from showbiz pals led by Katie Price.

They not only insisted Michelle, 41, book herself into The Priory, but paid for her four-week stay to beat her drug and alcohol addiction.

She detailed how her husband Hugh Hanley was left to raise their children as she battled her demons.

The married mum of two shot to fame on ITV’s Popstars in 2000, leading to the formation of Liberty X a year later. After they split in 2007 she moved into writing and TV work.

A downward spiral set in when she discovered in 2012 that she was a carrier of the mutated BRCA2 gene, significantly increasing her risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

Michelle underwent a mastectomy in 2012 and two years later, chose to also undergo a hysterectomy in order to beat the odds of developing cancer.

It was at this point that Michelle revealed that she turned to drinks and drugs to cope with the "pain and suffering".

"'What I was doing was a suicide mission. I was crying out for help when I couldn't actually ask for help. When you're an addict, it feels like there's no way out," she revealed.

"Last September I hit rock bottom with the alcohol and had excruciating pains. My doctor could feel my liver sticking out because I was so thin."

The star detailed that before rehab, she had drunk a bottle of vodka and two bottles of wine "virtually every day since 2018".

Michelle also revealed her "three day coke binge" that saw her consume a gram of cocaine a night, alongside her regular alcohol intake.

At The Priory, she was told that her levels of the enzyme GGT – which indicated lives damage – was at 2,500 compared to the healthy level of 30.

Having opened up over the weekend, Michelle took to Instagram on Monday to thank everyone for supporting her.

While out walking her dog in the sunny countryside, she filmed herself saying: "Everything feels very calm at the moment.

"I just wanted to say hi to everybody, it’s been a while, nice to meet you all again. Thank you for all your well wishes and your support."

Michelle added: "If there’s anybody out there struggling, you’re not alone."

After sharing her update, several of Michelle's famous friends commented on the post to give her their support and congratulate her for completing rehab.

Danielle Lloyd, Kerry Katona and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace were among the celeb names gushing they were "so proud" of Michelle.
