OUR Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has left fans thrilled after announcing a new arrival at Ravenseat.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess has her hands full with nine children and a farm to run,with the family's antics documented on the Channel 5 programme.


In between episodes and series, Amanda keeps her growing followers up to date on what's happening in their lives.

And on Wednesday, she revealed on Twitter that there had been a new arrival at Ravenseat.

Alongside a series of snaps, Amanda wrote: "Buttercup the house cow. Cow has calved.

"She’s a quiet, docile and very greedy dairy shorthorn that will provide enough milk for her calf and our household."

The pictures showed her younger children helping Buttercup in her pen before watching the newborn calf enjoy some milk from its mum.

Another snap showed the adorable newcomer close up, and fans were loving the update.

One wrote: "Bless buttercup x her sweet calf so lovely to see And the girls are growing so fast they are beautiful little girls."

Another added: "WOW amazing a new member of Ravenseat."

A third tweeted: "That’s wonderful. The girls look so thrilled."

A fellow follower asked Amanda if she will be selling the calf once it's weaned and she replied: "The best heifer calves we keep to replenish the herd.

"We sell the males and any surplus females at around a year of age to either breed or be fattened."
