The One Show branded ‘chaos’ as hosts lose control of Mel B and Emily Atack

Thursday's episode of The One Show had viewers branding the show as "chaos" as hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating seemed to lost control of guests Mel B, Emily Atack and Ruby Wax.

The excitable trio joined the show as they promoted their upcoming series Trailblazers: A Rocky Mountain Road Trip, which will se them retrace the steps of intrepid Victorian explorer Isabella Bird.

But the show soon took a bizarre turn, with the studio descending into chaos as the hosts quickly lost control of the three guests.

During a section of the interview, which focused on horse riding, the guests burst into hysterics as Mel and Ruby proceeded to roll around on the sofa together.

The trio also proved somewhat difficult to interview as they proceeded to talk over one another as the chaos continued.

Speaking about their new show Ruby, 69, told the hosts: "We were after the American dream and then it went rotten."

To which the Spice Girls star, 47, quipped: "Just like this interview!" adding "don't forget to tune in guys on Monday" before jokingly attempting to walk off set.

While her co-stars brought her back to set the former X Factor judge could be heard saying: "She said we had to go."

Viewers were quick to brand the episode as "chaos" and a "disaster" with one taking to Twitter to write: "Kind of loving the chaos of Ruby Wax & Mel B (plus Emily Attack) on The One Show. At least they have personalities."

Another wrote: "Absolute chaos on the One Show right now, live TV is great."

And a third added: "Emily Atack, Mel B & Ruby Wax were on The One Show last night & it was a disaster." while a forth said: "What…is…happening… This is the biggest car crash of an interview between Mel B, Ruby Wax and Emily Atack."

And some were certainly not loving the interview, with one adding: "Ruby Wax and Mel B acting like idiots and making me switch off."

And appearing on This Morning today to further promote the show, Mel B was once again met with chaos as the studio's fire alarm kept going off.

It first went off as she chatted to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, and then later went off during the show's fashion segment.

The first time the alarm sounded, Mel B jumped to her feet as she urged Alison and Dermot to leave, joking that "we're done".

Alison and Dermot didn't echo the singer's sense of urgency, however, and remained seated.
