STRICTLY may have finished, but fear not – we still have the Christmas special to enjoy.

The show will air on Christmas Day at 5.10pm on BBC One.

The Strictly Christmas special started back in 2004 .

Like the winner of the main show, the champ gets a trophy.

But instead of getting the famous Glitterball, they get a star shaped award.

The show has already been pre-recorded, and on December 12, 2021 fans were in uproar when someone leaked who won the show.

Who is competing in the Strictly Christmas special 2021?

Unlike the main show which has 15 celebrities, the festive edition of the hit BBC One show only has six stars taking part.

Strictly newcomer Jowita achieved two impossible tasks in Xmas special

Those taking part in the 2021 show include:

  • Anne-Marie is paired with Graziano Di Prima on the Christmas special. The singer and coach on ITV's The Voice told the BBC: "If it all goes wrong, I may just whack out a song quickly and hope that that gets me a few points but I'm trying hard, I'm learning so much."
  • The Repair Shop's Jay Blades with paired with professional dancer, Luba Mushtuk. He said: "I'm super excited, times two! One, because I'm going to learn a new dance apart from the 'Dad' dance, and two because I'm going to be on Strictly!" he said.
  • First Dates star Fred Sirieix is paired with Dianne Buswell and said he is "delighted" to be taking part in the Strictly Christmas Special. He said: "I hope my dance moves bring some Christmas joy to everybody watching at home and don't make the judges say "Bah, Humbug!"
  • TV star and comedian Mel Giedroyc is paired Neil Jones. The former Bake Off host is a Strictly super fan and said she hasn't "been this excited about Christmas since I got my first guinea-pig from Santa!"
  • Veteran news broadcaster Moira Stuart is paired with Aljaz Skorjanec. She said: "I'm really looking forward to the Strictly Christmas special. I've loved dancing for as long as I can remember!"
  • TV and radio presenter Adrian Chiles was the final celeb to be announced for the show, and he'll be dancing with pro newcomer Jowita Przystal. Adrian said: "My thing is I am actually quite a good dancer as long as nobody's watching me."

Who won the Christmas special in 2020?

Due to the pandemic, the Strictly Christmas special was cancelled in 2020.

Instead, viewers voted for the top 25 routines of all time.

This saw Jay McGuinness and Aliona Vilani’s Pulp Fiction-inspired Jive to You Never Can Tell from 2015 crowned winner.
