Surfer is attacked by a shark at one of Sydney’s most popular beaches – just weeks after a man was mauled to death by a great white

A surfer has been attacked by a shark at Maroubra Beach in Sydney on Tuesday morning.

The surfer was not injured by the shark, but the beast managed to grip onto his board – leaving large bite marks. 

The incident took place at 7:50am this morning.

Maroubra beach was closed at the time due to dangerous surf conditions.
