When is No Trousers on the Tube Day 2019 and how do you take part?

HUNDREDS of Londoners are set to ditch their trousers as No Trousers on the Tube Day comes around for the tenth year.

Here’s what it’s all about and how to get involved yourself.

When is No Trousers on the Tube Day?

In 2019, this exciting and semi-naked day will be celebrated on January 13.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of this baffling London custom, that sees people jump on the London Underground without any trousers on.

The eye-popping event kicks off just outside the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square at 2.30pm, before participants split into smaller groups.

They will then all jump on the Tube and travel around town without their trousers before reconvening in the Chandos Pub in Trafalgar Square for an after-party.

The event is actually part of the much-bigger No Pants on the Subway Ride, which was born in New York in 2002.

The movement has spread to more than 60 cities worldwide with Moscow, Tokyo and even Jerusalem getting in on the action.

What can I wear instead of my trousers?

Well, basically you’re taking the Tube in your underpants.

However, leave those sexy tight panties at home, as there are really strict guidelines about what is deemed appropriate.

Participants are asked to “avoid thongs/budgie-smugglers/anything see-through though, as we aim to amuse, not offend, fellow Underground users”.

What did the organisers say?

The Stiff Upper Lip Society, the organisers of the event took to Facebook to say: "This is for the fun of it, and articles of clothing like skirts, shorts, kilts, and dresses don’t count, because people are encouraged to revel in the absence of trousers, and not replace trousers with other clothing.

"The point is to relax and enjoy the humour inherent in people not wearing trousers.

"Please don't wear anything overly close-fitting (so no thongs, banana hammocks or mankinis), nothing see-through, nor so flimsy one is falling out of it, or kilts without anything underneath.

"We don't want people to be disgusted, I personally do not wish to be arrested, and we want to stage this event for decades yet.

"The trouserless part of the event is all underground, and it is warm down there.

"The only chance you'll have to be cold is when we meet up at Trafalgar Square at the beginning, any surfacings Troop Leaders select, and when we walk to the pub at the end."
