Tebowmania has touched down in Jacksonville.

Jaguars fans erupted into cheers Thursday as Tim Tebow walked onto the practice field for training camp, the 33-year-old former quarterback and minor league outfielder attempting to revive his professional football career at tight end.

Even though Tebow is considered a long shot to make the final roster, the rockstar reception was hardly a surprise.

The devout Christian has drawn crowds everywhere he’s been since starring at Florida nearly two decades ago, before his career as an NFL quarterback flamed out in 2012 as a member of the Jets.

Tebow spent the last five years toiling as a minor league outfielder with the Mets, never making it to the major leagues in a partnership mostly seen as a way to boost ticket sales.

Tebow retired from baseball in January and Urban Meyer, his former coach at Florida who is entering his first year as the Jacksonville head coach, convinced him to try out as a tight end.

Tebow, whose net worth is reportedly $5 million, signed a one-year contract worth $920,000, none of which is guaranteed.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Tebow is considered the fourth- or fifth-string tight end at this point, and it’s hard to imagine the Jaguars using one of their 53 roster spots on someone who hasn’t played in a regular season football game almost 10 years and is learning a new position.

Regardless, the arrival of Tebow, Meyer and first-overall draft pick and quarterback Trevor Lawrence seemingly has galvanized the fanbase, whose lack of support over the years has sparked rumors the franchise could move to London.
