Double death drama for Roy and Nina in tragic river plunge in Coronation Street

Nina Lucas’ (Mollie Gallagher) life is on the line in Coronation Street next year, after a mission to find missing Roy Cropper (David Neilson) ends in a truly horrific fashion.

The tragic turn of events will come about shortly after Roy vanishes ahead of a bat group meeting with Nina, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).

The cafe owner, you see, agrees to takes Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) to a friend’s house, meaning that he’ll be making his way to the location of the meeting by himself.

Nina and Brian, meanwhile, receive word that the meeting in question has been cancelled, and thus they waste little time in attempting to contact Roy.

Problems arise, however, as they soon discover that Roy doesn’t have his phone on him, meaning that they’ve got no way of getting in touch with him.

Oh dear!

It’s a race against time to track down missing Roy before it gets dark, and Nina and Brian are on the case, but they’re left fearing the worst after a chilling discovery.

Roy’s car is abandoned, and his thermos is in the river!

Believing that her uncle could be in danger, Nina slides down the hill towards the river, hoping to have some success in finding her beloved Roy.

But tragedy strikes soon afterwards as she slips and bangs her head, tumbling down into the river!

Brian swoops into action, telephoning for an ambulance before pulling Nina’s body from the river, but is it too late to save her?

Roy, meanwhile, is in the woods, unaware of what has transpired.

Pictures reveal him dangerously close to the edge of the river bank – will he also find himself in danger?

Corrie stars Mollie Gallagher, Tanisha Gorey, Peter Gunn and David Neilson – who play Nina, Asha, Brian and Roy respectively – were spotted on-location filming the scenes in question for the ITV soap.

Mollie could be heard, as Nina, screaming Roy’s name – to no luck.

Will more tragedy strike for Roy and Nina? Will one of them lose their lives as a result of a tragic accident?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1.
