Things took a rather awkward turn on Wednesday morning's Good Morning Britain after a government minister failed to show up for an interview to discuss Boris Johnson’s party-gate.

Presenters Adil Ray and Susanna Reid were clearly left disappointed after they were shunned once again by a member of parliament who refused to take part in their intense questioning.

However, things became even more uncomfortable when show producers decided to film an empty chair of where the government minister would of sat.

Seeing the scenes unfold, viewers rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One fan wrote: "Ministers disappear again from #GMB."

Another viewer added: "Forget the Govt. ministers I'll come in if there is cake and cheese, I'll pass on the wine though."

A third penned: "Ministers doing their disappearing act again, just heard they can get none to appear on #GMB."
