JEREMY Clarkson looks besotted with his new grandchild after his daughter Emily gave birth.

Emily and husband Alex welcomed their first baby into the world on February 1.


And Emily's dad Jeremy cradled their little bundle of joy in his first photo on Instagram of them together.

The presenter, 62, shared the snap of him gently holding his grandaughter, and he captioned it: "The happiest a man can be."

The snap melted hearts, as one follower replied: "Grandpa Clarkson"

Another wrote beneath his post: "Congratulations Jezza."

Emily, who announced she was expected with her husband Alex Andrew in September, revealed her happy news on Sunday with a black and white photo.

She penned: "Arlo Rose Andrew 1/2/23 we’re all doing really well at home and just loving this time hanging out as a family so will be back online in a little bit xxxxxxx"

Emily is the daughter of Sun columnist Jeremy and presents her own podcast, Should I Delete That?

She has also published a book, Can I Speak To Someone In Charge?, a series of open letters addressing the absurdities of modern life.

When she wed Alex, she opted for a countryside wedding and shared some snaps of their romantic day on Instagram.

Jeremy, 62, seemed delighted to welcome Irish city trader Alex into the family, having previously gushed online about their engagement.

When Alex popped the question, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host had commented: "Very very happy father."
