Angela Rayner says 'it doesn't matter' if Isla Bryson has a penis

Labour deputy Angela Rayner says ‘it doesn’t matter’ if trans double rapist Isla Bryson has a penis amid grilling over prisons debate

  • She didn’t know because she didn’t know ‘what’s inside that person’s head’
  • Tory MP Nickie Aiken said the comments rendered Rayner unfit for high office

Labour deputy Angela Rayner said ‘it doesn’t matter’ if trans double rapist Isla Bryson has a penis while she was grilled on whether the attacker should be placed in a women’s prison.

Rayner sparked fury when she responded that she ‘didn’t know’ whether the Scottish sex offender was a woman when they raped two women.

The MP further explained that she didn’t know the answer because she didn’t know ‘what’s inside that person’s head’.

When the 42-year-old was asked if the phrase ‘her penis’ made sense, she added ‘I think, to be honest, I don’t think that particularly matters.’

Ms Rayner told The Sunday Times: ‘That person’s identifying as a woman now.

‘But they’re right at the beginning of a transition — that they believe is right for them, however, and that’s fine.

‘We respect that. That doesn’t mean to say by respecting it you instantly say, OK, well, that person then goes into a vulnerable space.

‘I think people just want to see the human side of being compassionate for people, but also seek that reassurance around safe spaces.

‘I don’t think those two things are incompatible.’

‘It doesn’t matter whether it was a penis or some implementation’ used in the crimes.

Tory MP Nickie Aiken said the comments rendered Rayner unfit for high office, according to The Sun.

This comes after Bryson’s estranged wife, Shonna Graham, 31, expressed her ‘delight’ at Nicola Sturgeon quitting as Scottish First Minister following controversy around the SNP’s controversial Gender Recognition Reform Bill.‘

She shot herself in the foot over and over again, and I’m delighted she’s gone,’ said the mother-of-one, who is still technically married to the serial sex attacker once known as Adam Graham.

Shonna said she had voted SNP in the past but might change her vote in light of the ongoing controversy surrounding her former husband

Graham had decided to identify as a woman by the name of Isla Bryson after being accused of rape. The infamous case last month exposed a flaw at the heart of the SNP policy, which would allow anyone over 16 to ‘self-identify’ as the opposite sex without needing a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria.

And although Isla Bryson was later transferred from a female to a male prison for assessment, Ms Sturgeon refused to back down on her party’s policy, which set the Scottish government on a collision course with Westminster.

In July 2016, Ms Graham married the shaven-headed brute with a Mike Tyson-style face tattoo then called Adam Bryson, who also took her surname.

Today Ms Graham, from Motherwell, said of the breaking news from Holyrood: ‘It was only a matter of time – people, even a lot of those who voted SNP – could see this policy was nuts, and Adam only changed sex to get an easier time in prison.’

Ms Graham added that she has voted SNP in the past ‘but now I think I’ll change my mind’.
